It's me...KG!

Way back in 2003, I was an English major at Wright State University. Photography was not on my radar at all until I got a job as a seasonal salesperson at a one-hour photo studio in Beavercreek, Ohio. After that first busy Christmas season, they asked if I wanted to come back and learn how to be a photographer. The studio had pre-set lighting, their own posing brand, film cameras, a huge printer, and of course, a propellor cap as part of the uniform.

The store closed a few years later due to the convenience of digital photography and the rising cost of ink, film, and paper. I still wanted to take photos, so in 2009 I bought my first DSLR, a second hand Nikon D40. The learning curve from a preset studio camera and lighting to adjusting settings in different lighting scenarios was initially difficult and frustrating to navigate but became easier with practice.

Over the next several years, my business morphed from a handful of inexpensive family sessions each year to senior portraiture, weddings, events, commission work, and independent projects. I also studied document design after earning my M.Ed. and am proud to have a handful of return design clients.

I love to learn new techniques while staying true to my vision and delivering quality work to my clients.
